I agree wit ya 3rdbat if i was going to spend the money it would be a Harley. but the T-Rex would be fun to play with a little bit!

I suggest you stick with a 250 ninja the are perfect for beginners. I personally wouldn't spend the money for a Harley. They maybe classic but so is there technology. What would you trust more top of the line suspension along with top of the line brakes or a Harley setup that hasn't changed much in the past 40 years. But definitely don't go out and get a four stroke for your first bike.
Also don't put the cart before the horse, you need to spend good money on your gear I personaly spent 1100 on my gear. which is almost as much as I spent restoring my bike.
Here are some before and after pics of my 2001 suzuki bandit 1200.
Picked it up for $300. It started but didnt run right. and wasnt taken care of.
I started by cutting the ugly stuff off
So here is the Before and After

I was quite skeptical when you bought that thing. But what you've done with it is pretty incredible. Wow, strap on a 4 cyl and ride. That bike is all motor! You forgot to mention this bike is "FOR SALE".
