| Can say this is the first I've heard anyone complain about it in BC2. Highest ping I have seen on our servers is 452 from Brazil, 436 from Indonesia, and 437 from Germany. After observing these for awhile, they all seemed to calm down to mid 200's as the round progressed. Haven't seen the public complain about this in our servers. Is it really such a problem in game? I play with an old rig on low settings. | |

| Personally I almost never experience any lag on our servers, it doesn't matter what time I play on. In chat, late night, some people experience lag but I don't know if putting a ping-limit in would solve that because generally lag issues are your own fault, not the fault of others in the server. I believe the general consensus is that while high latency players don't slow down the server, or cause lag for anyone else, they cause poor gameplay quality because they are hard to kill. Of course, it's even harder for them because they have to deal with not only their rubber banding, but everyone else's rubber banding I personally don't think it's necessary to limit ping... I mean not seriously. I might limit at 500. Dial ups in Turkey, etc. | |

| well i do experience problems with players in groups coming in with high pings. And can note times and days that this happens... mostly this accures early early mornings like 2-6 am while we have alot of foriegn players on... yes agreed one or two high pingers does not affect the server. but i have noticed and noted when times of several 450-600 ping players (meaning 5 or more) the server does strain.... i still show a very low latency myself during this time.... usually below a hundred... so the lag cant come from my connection or pc.... and i do run a deticated fiber optic line with specs of 24 down 3 up.... so maybe the faster machines feel it more.... and the slower older machines or slower connections do not feel it as much because they are already alittle behind or used to playing alittle behind... i would just like everyone to research this alittle more before a final deciion.... Thank You.. | |
