What is Darkstar-Gaming(DsG)?It is a community of players and many different clans who play all sorts of games and even tournaments with 2 to 4 armies which consist of all sorts of players and clan members too.
Why is this being brought up?This is being brought up, because D3TANKER and I originally got recruited into this to play for the army, 75R. We've played three tour rounds with them now and it is a hell of a lot of fun and we now are running with all different people from our forums and TeamSpeak. Some of which are IRMEDIC, SPLATMASTER999, Jascar2001, PunisherNM, Yougodead, _YAP_, ZeeDeevel67, HIC-CAD and even Lufbery17! We are seeing this as an opportunity for our clan to become more of a gaming clan and give us a chance to get a feel for competitive gaming as well as bring us together since we've been sort of pulled apart by recent conflicts.
Who can play in this?Everyone! Simply there is no segregation of players. =ReGS=, =FaRT= and even normal players can sign up for this and play for either army, 75R or VDV.
Is this competitive?Yes! The use of TeamSpeak and tactical organization is required if you play in these tournaments. This is so competitive that there is even tactic run-throughs for those running leadership positions, like myself, the day before the actual tournament.
What game will be used in these tournaments?BattleField 3 will be used since a majority of players signing up on the DSG website own this game.
What game modes are played?Conquest and Rush
What maps are played?In this tour, vanilla maps and Back to Karkand maps will be played. In future tours, Armored Kill may be incorporated.
How is the tour scored?Each conquest win is worth 2 points plus 1 more if we win with 100 or more tickets available.
1 point is gained in Rush for every two M-COMs destroyed.
When does this tournament take place?Every Sunday at 1200 to 2000(12:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.) EST time-zone. You don't have to play the whole 8 hours, but you can if you wish. If you have to go run an errands during the tour day, you can go do that and come back and play later. In your absence, someone else will fill your spot and you might have to wait to play when you get back. There are many who are playing, and sometimes we have to take turns if we have a lot who want to play.
Initial SetupHere's a step by step procedure on how to get started with Darkstar-Gaming tournament. Firstly, go
here and click on "Join Now" to the left of the page. Now you will fill in your information on this page and then click "Complete Registration." (Your account might not be registered as soon as you click submit. Admins may have to take a look at your registration first before you're able to successfully log in. Once you're registered and logged in, go to their
forums. To sign up for an army, go to
Sign up now for Army Placement. Here, you will create a new topic with the topic name being your username.
Here's an example of what it should look like. Once you've applied for your army placement, you'll have to wait for either the SAF or the 5MD to reply to your post. They'll help you the rest of the way to get yourself setup and ready to play.
