I suppose those of us "early adopters" who already shelled out money for the first DLC just get a "thanks" from EA and still get to pay the 50 bucks huh?

Ya I was a little miffed by this announcement as well! I bought the limited edition right off and now i have to shell more bucks out again! I think the least they could do is give the limited edition owners a 50% discount!

PostSubject: Can You Still Buy The New DLC Individually?   Battlefield Premium Icon_minitimeWed Jun 06, 2012 5:28 pm

Will you be able to purchase the DLC individually? Or do you have to buy BF3 Premium?

You'll be able to buy them separately (they will be $15 each), but the Premium users will be able to get them 2 weeks earlier. I don't plan on getting the Close Quarters pack, so I'll probably skip on the Premium package and getting the individual ones that appeal to me.

what about the stuff beyond the maps, like the new guns and various other things? Are those only available in the specific packs?

I'll wait for them to go on sale, not wasting any more money on BF3 any time soon.

They'll be handled just like the Back to Karkand pack. New guns are available to unlock by completing assignments. Each new expansion pack will have a selection of new guns to unlock. If you don't have the pack, you won't be able to unlock the guns.

i know we talked about putting a password on the server but it hasent been empty since launch so we may have to rethink this.

I already shelled out the cash for it, but my biggest gripe is that since I bought the Limited Edition, I'm basically buying Back to Kharkand twice. Wasn't too pleased about that.
