| Hello y’all, the sandwich here so I have pinched every penny and have eaten enough sandwiches to finally buy a new video card. So what I want is both performance and EYE CANDY. I would also like the card to last a few years before I have to change it out, I know what my opinions are on both companies I think they both have great hardware but who is better ? I would like to hear what you guys think . | |

| Good question Sandwich. There's alot of knowledge at anandtech that could give you some good advise as well. After I recover from the holidays I'll be needing a new build myself.

| Personally its a couple of things,
Personal preference
And
Processor type.
Generally speaking and I know others would either agree or disagree with me on the second one but. Usually if you have an Intel processor you would want to go nvidia because its Intel based and vice versa with ati and amd. If you keep the same base line it works out better with less problems usually but everybody is different. Happy hunting Samitch

| Well with that chunk of change you can do at least 3 things
1. Get one really high end card
2. Get two mid range cards and run them in sli
And lastly
3. Just wait a little longer for the 700 series from nvidia if that's what your going for. I'm not much up to date on ATI cards

| What Ironman said.. You will need to know how many amps on the 12 volt rails your power supply has and look at the specs on the new video card and see how many amps it requires. I made this mistake before and paid dearly. | |
