Todays jump was postponed due to wind. He will be jumping from 120,000 ft and will break the sound barrier during his free fall

Hell, I didn't know that was today! Heard about this one a few times.. Wouldn't breaking the sound barrier shake his heart away from it's arteries like getting hit by a bus? The guy is either, Insane(Clinically), Needs to prove something or, just downright thrives on adrenaline..

What's the last thing a bug sees before hitting the windshield?

Total waste of so much precious helium for a stunt.

Didn't realize there was a helium shortage. Wouldn't the helium be released back into the atmosphere after the balloon ruptures ? On a side note, NASA is watching this stunt closely for development of escape systems in space craft.

Helium is a non renewable resource. Its so light weight that once its released in the atmosphere it doesn't stay in it, drifts into space. There is a tremendous helium shortage right now.
Take a look around and try to buy a tank of helium.
The list goes on... We use helium in a lot of things; sadly its a disappearing resource with little to no alternatives available. From Welding, to MRIs, to even making our voices sound funny...

Austria's Felix Baumgartner earned his place in the history books on Sunday Oct 14 after overcoming concerns with the power for his visor heater that impaired his vision and nearly jeopardized the mission. Baumgartner reached an estimated speed of 1,342.8 km/h (Mach 1.24) jumping from the stratosphere, which when certified will make him the first man to break the speed of sound in freefall and set several other records* while delivering valuable data for future space exploration.
