| Hi all S&H members...You probably don't remember me, especially under the new tag I've recently began using, but I've made a few rounds with some of you in my past life as a CoD fan. I recently retired from my life's endeavors as a code killer and have begun enjoying once again the more creative aspects of myself and the need I have always had to play PC games that excersizes my various alter egos. As an old but very young at heart hippie of the old school, I began my gaming career as so many others have, on an old pinball machine called "FireBall" while learning how to drink and explore the many indoor sports that a University lifestyle provides. Of course computers were just becoming of value to the average citizen back then, and so with a good pair of ear muffs to prevent the deafness a room full of keypunch machines would otherwise leave one with, I really started by sitting down at the greenish glow of the crt along with my freinds so as to learn and master the only real game in town! It being a simple grid made of dots, dashes, and any of the characters our keyboards allowed us. We called it "Star Trek", and with our ships as portrayed by other simplistic keys, and with the help of the old aarpNet, we battled our crosstown football rivals, shooting our Photon Torpedos and firing our Phasers based on spreadsheet mechanics and statistical mathematics. We in having no fancy graphics or autobots to indulge ourselves with were forcwed to use our imaginations. I't was as you might think, quite a lot like ripping deep into the code base of StarCraft with reams of dot-matrix printing paper in one hand and a scientific calculator in the other! <g> It was GREAT! But those days are long gone and these days the rush of a good Battlefield squad mopping up Kirkland is what I require! Admittedly, I haven't played in quite some time, and have barely scratched the surface of the single-player role in BFBC2, however and if invited, I would love to get back to BF2 as a simple private until BF3 is released. I am looking for a clan to become active with which uses strategy and tactics, working together to plan and execute those battles chosen. I enjoy NOT being in command, yet will do whatever I might be called upon to do as a squade member. I'm very tolerant of most things Battlefield and other games make possible, however I prefer at least a modicum of respect between members as well as opponents no matter if a championship or pickup game being played just for the fun of it. And I also prefer fighting alongside soldiers who do NOT take advantage of glitches or abilities, though available...like that guy with the red cape, or enemies who bunny hop all over the map! So let me just say that beginning on the 20th of Oct., I will become available most evenings starting at 6:00 pm EST for playing BF2, just talking about it, training, and getting ready for the upcoming new release. If you are recuiting, and we get along all right, something good may come of it. Please get in touch with me if and when you like. | |

| I got to say. You defiantly bring back some of those old memories of playing Star Trek in those noisy rooms. What I would give if we had the hi-tec hearing protection we have now. back then it would have saved me from quite a few sleepless nights and I might not have that clattering in my head going on now. I might not be quite as old school as you are, for the game I started cutting my teeth on was the video game "Rip-Off" and "Asteroids". Those where some amazing days. The biggest choice was the arcade or the local hang-out to watch girls. We are not much into recruiting, people just happen to find us. This has made for quite a collection of players for the games. Stop by and join us on TeamSpeak and check out our Code of Conduct. https://strengthandhonor.forumotion.net/t89-code-of-conduct-server-rules | |

| Welcome Old Schooler. There's probably several of us around here that know what you're talkin bout. I myself started on a console game called Pong. I think the first PC game I played was on a Commadore 64 called Tanks. Dos were the days! LOL. We're more of a casual gaming community that avoids the drama that tournaments can stir up. So, I doubt you'll see us in any championship games. Jump into Teamspeak and get to know us. Hang around for a couple weeks and attend our community meetings on Thursday night to see if we're a good fit. Look forward to squading up for some teamwork. | |

| Girls? What and where are they? Oh wait...I remember! <g> I'm not that old yet! It's just that I sort of promised my own Dad's girlfriend that she needn't worry when he finally kicks it himself. I'll be waiting right around the corner. She's 44 and looking like 25, and he's 82. I've already thanked him for keeping her on tap for me. What a dad! <g> But getting back to less important activities...! Right now a pickup clan is the way to go for me right now as I need to get back into learning the finer points of the game anyway. I don't want to start worrying about winning or that I let my teammates down until I'm feeling comfortable with BF3! And I also want the freedom to explore a few other games as well In any case, and after spening some time looking thru the forum I think I'll do just as suggested...meaning I'll get my headphones working, pickup the latest verson of TeamSpeak, and get with you guys as the weekend passes. I'm dying to compare system specs cause I just put a new machine together from iBuyPower. So far so good, but it's easy to compare against my old machine. BTW...Isn't it amazing how enthralled we used to be over Pong? <g> Until the 3rd release I think, all one could do is move the paddles up and down on the screen, and then when we finally got the ability to add a horizontal move...Sexy!

| FFO.. you bring back some fond memories. I remember begging my parents for a quarter so I could head down to the boardwalk in Cape May, New Jersey. I could go all day on the pinball games on a quarter. (Did I just admit to being "old"? ) When Pong came out, I was in heaven. Then Dragon's Lair; OMG what a game . Commadore 64 and the tank game kept me busy for hours every night. S&H is a great community. All about having fun with a great group. Jump into TS and find out for yourself. lookin' forward to seeing you in the maps | |

| Someday is coming real soon! <g> I wasn't able to get in on the beta, but from what I've read around the net it appears that everyone is having a good time and the game is twice what it was for version 2. I'm picking up a Corsair headset on Saturday and hope to be able to speak with you all after I don't go to church on Sunday. I usually do my computer shopping online, but I've been fooled by two headsets already and want to check this one out before I commit. For those of you that aren't familiar with the Appalachian hills of Pa., ( Sorry...after living out west for half my life I just can't bring myself to call these bumps along-side the road mountains! <g> ), this a cultural wasteland best left to the inbreds who make a living doing horror movies. Yes, I AM the most intelligent guy around these parts. Why I live here is a long story involving assorted chain saws, missing teeth, and an assortment of wondering coal miners carrying pick axes. No, you do NOT want to come over for dinner! <g> Catch you Sunday! | |
