Hello fellow BFBC2 gamers.
Was playing on your server today and saw you guys would like some feedback, so here it is:

First, if you want more people to actually leave you feedback, you shouldn't have to make them register. You should have a message window that allows them to post their thoughts and suggestions.

Second, what's this BS about being killed when shooting from a "protected zone"? This is utter stupidity because:

(A) a sniper is supposed to camp THAT'S THEIR JOB! In real life snipers will camp in the same spot FOR DAYS.

(B) the enemy can shoot into and kill in the protected zone without being killed. This happened today SEVERAL times. The team I was on was, basically, a bunch of newbs comparatively to the other team. It seemed as though EVERY round we wound up getting pushed back to our uncap. While trying to fight our way out, we kept getting slayed with the awesome message "you were slayed for killing from a protected zone".

Needless to say this was VERY frustrating. You guys have, inadvertently, made it easier for the attackers to keep the losing team in their spawn with no way of shooting their way out. Basically, making them sitting ducks.

And (C) wtf is this 4 sniper limit? Really? If a whole team wants to be snipers and get owned, why stop them? This is one thing that drives me nuts about certain servers. I tend to avoid servers that have these limits and the shooting from spawn rules (autoslay).

This is supposed to be a "war simulator", don't gimp this game imposing newbish rules.

I hope you guys change some of these things. I believe it will make your server better to play on, and keep it more fair.

PS: One more thing that just came to mind, team randomizers by level. I think it would make it more balanced and more fun to play for all involved.

Thanks all, GG.

Some of us love the sniper limit and the uncap protection.
Nothing wrong with snipers over all but the limit needs to be enforced as this is only a 32 person game and when a quarter or more play the sniper class the team has no chance to win.
To many cowards who want the easy kill so the uncap protection is a must.

Insinuating that those who play Recon are cowards is probably not the best choice of words. Kind of an ignorant statement if you ask me.

I use it the majority of time and I also cap bases and take m-com stations. I also destroy armor and stay just out of the way so my squad mates can spawn on me. The biggest reason I like to use it is my preference for single shot weapons. Personally I wish they would allow you the option of no scope on some of the rifles. I am one bada$$ mofo with the iron sites. One of those skilled throw back gamer types unlike the pray and spray kids who use full auto and jump & pump an entire clip just for one kill.

My take on the rule.... Its their damn server so they have the choice to do what they want. Move on if you don't like it. The rules had to be put in because there are just to many useless/skilless players in general. Those who sit on their proverbial a$$ and those who camp uncaps. The rules may not make all happy but they are a median that tries to get the best action on the server. Do I agree with the Recon rule... No because it effects my play style and freedom to choose. Do I accept it? Sure its their rule. Pretty simple.

Thanks for your input Omega... The adjustments to our servers is not one of a knee-jerk reaction.. It comes from decades of combined experience with online FPS in general... We carefully and dynamically put these facets in place.. One thing for sure is, there is no way to please everyone.. We do our best to strike a balance.. As far as having to register, like most communities, we require registration so we have a means of contact, and accountability..

As far as the camp main setting, it's not perfect but, it's DEFINITELY better than the alternative that was emptying our servers when we weren't looking, and when we were, no admin could actually play the game because you had to micromanage the behavioral issues that came with the spawn raping.. Not sure if you've ever had to admin a Conquest server in this game Omega but, if you had, I doubt you would have asked that question Wink

As far as the sniper limit? It has proved to be a big hit with BC2... It has created a much more tactical action packed experience. It eliminates the lopsided experience of a team loaded with 50 to 70% snipers.. Some of which are doing their job, some of which are just obsessed with their precious stats.. The public that plays on our servers is also a big part of the reason, with their input, and ours, we've made these adjustments.. They were voted on, and approved..

Strength and Honor may have only been around for a year and a half but, it's members and admins have been through this cycle for many years, many of us approaching 10 years, through MOH,COD:UO,BF2 Series,COD series etc... We are pretty well versed with end results..

The team scramble feature, is DEFINITELY an idea we have been tossing around over the past couple weeks... Thanks for the suggestion...

We'll see how BF3 pans out.. It's ALL subject to change depending on the dynamics of the game.. It will be interesting to see what a having a 64 player server once again will bring to the table..

Peace..

In a perfect world, I too would love to see uncap protection and the recon limit removed, however, this is far from a perfect world, and unless there was a way to set up a filter to weed out unskilled players and score whores, unfortunately, these rules are almost a necessity to ensure a balanced game. in a real war, Recon does so much more then just camp and kill, A good recon also passes on information to his or her fellow teammates, picks his spots where they will do the most good for his team and help his team take or keep objectives, and on a 16 person team, 25% snipers is more then enough and the only time the Recon limit only really negatively effects the game is when your Recons suck, and are JUST camping and score whoring. and while if you have attended any of our community meetings, you would know that i am one of the biggest bitchers about the Recon Limit, I do recognize that on certain servers it serves a very needed function. As for uncap protection, almost ALL conquest servers have a rule against killing in uncaps, most don't set it to auto which leads to A: Admin having to babysit the server, or B: only quasi-enforcment of the rule, which sucks if you are a player who abides by the server rules an no one is around to police the server to make sure everyone else is too.

however.. after writing this post, I do have a hankering for total no rules balls to the wall war simulation inter-community scrim Smile
