Spawn camped to death in Conquest

I know you all said to man up; however when the game becomes unplayable due to the fact that you're getting raped to holy hell in spawn on a map when all the bases have been camped, and the roads have been mined to death where you can't even drive a vehicle out to break the encroaching line, there isn't a point to playing the game. The only thing that could have made it worse would have been mortars killing us faster as we spawn.

Do I have a solution? Sadly no, not with the current availability of tools and lack of true support of the game. I'd like to see something that penalizes people for shooting into spawn, AND kills people for killing from within spawn that exceeds the range of 50 yards from protected area.

As for the landmines... no idea what to do about that. Its just utterly frustrating trying to break a solid blockade without being able to move a heavy protected unit through all the heavy incoming fire.

S&H server rules for spawn camping are as follows...

#8. Spawn Camping is prohibited. Spawn Camping is a deliberate attempt to "stake out" spawn spots, not merely killing someone that spawns right in front of you as you're running by, or killing someone who spawns right next to you as you're trying to take a flag. It is not considered spawn camping if you are merely trying to help your team get the flag. However, you must have teammates on the flag. If your teammates are all killed in the process, you must back off of the spawn spots or get on the flag yourself. this rule applies to Conquest mode only, Rush mode is not bound to this rule.

You may already know this but if not maybe it will help....

Use thermal imaging to see mine locations then you can use the main gun on the tank or a explosive device (C4, nades, etc) to blow them up which will give you anti explosive points and ribbons.

As much as I've played in a tank, I still haven't unlocked that as yet.
Best thing I was able to do last night was play with an engineer with thermal to find them, and pick them up. However, that was a difficult task. As I'd tried to move up to clear the roads, I would have to clear the area of troops. Which by the time I'd get to the mines (if I could), I'd be fighting the same guys I'd already cleared because they'd respawned again.

Which lead me to another thought last night to add if its do-able, Variable respawn times dependent on the map location.

So if people want to camp right outside of spawn say within 100 yards of the safe zone, then their respawn are increased significantly (4x normal time) causing the attackers to have to wait considerably longer before they can resume spawn raping, which would give the people inside the spawns trying to come out a better chance to push past that blockade.

so for instance on firestorm, if someone is camping the spot where everyone spawns in (in the back, near the cars and the destructible building) this is considered against the rules? in that case, expect a lot more reports from me i'll be sure to double check, thought, that no enemies are on the flag before i report but players like JoeDirt-151 and rockyforever101 were doing it yesterday on firestorm. i know nothing can be done about it now, but just giving some evidence that these people still exist and still do this whenever they can.

I handed out temp bans to both JoeDirt-151 and rockyforever101 for camping spawn, Sorry that it did not come to my attention sooner.

no worries at all man. I'll be sure to double check any spawn camper I see just in case they might have mates on the point. I would have not posted those names if they didn't do the same thing at bravo (for a long time too) and at charlie. when I called them out on it they basically told me off, which prompted me to report them. I would have warned them but I'm not admin and the scrolling rule, as far as I remember right now, only refers to the main base as opposed to the spawn points themselves, but I could easily be wrong. plus other people were complaining too so I felt that a post here was needed rather than my usual reporting via teamspeak

xug-pwnyexpress is on the server now standing in the back of alpha killing people as they spawn. couple people are already complaining about it. i told him to stop but he didn't so i felt a post was necessary
