We can once again play GRID Online!!

Here is what you need to do.

1. Go to Gameranger.com and download.
2. Set up a free account.
3. Go to your email to activate account.
4. Open Gameranger.

To join a server:
There is a drop down box just below the welcome to GameRanger picture. it will show you several options. If Grid is installed on your computer you will find it in the My Games Folder. you will see the LAN'S in which you can join. Highlight the one you want to join and click on join. Grid will automatically start up on your computer. Go to multiplayer, look for the LAN you are in. PLAY!

To host a server:
Click the host button and Game should say GRID choose number of players password and other options. A chat screen will appear and here is where you can chat prior to a gam. Once the game is started you cannot return to the GameRanger chat screen with out aborting game.
I recommend that as soon as the chat screen comes up, (Port-restricted will appear, just click continue) then click start at the bottom right and GRID will launch on its own. Set up your game like you would any other LAN and other players will be able to loin. This is very easy and works great.
Now lets race!

Also some people have been having weird issues with the player names in Grid. Your first name will be shortened to the first letter, and your second name will be displayed in full.

So my profile was Robin Wakko, I showed up as R Wakko.

A few of us race every Saturday night. We race in GRID, DiRT2, and Dirt3.
Looking fwd to DiRT Showdown with Demolition Derby coming out May 2012.

I have been wanting to get into the racing games for some time now. I also planned on getting Dirt 2 and Dirt 3. A couple MM guys have Dirt 3 as well.

I will keep an eye on your TS channel to see if you all are in the racing channel and will join you.

Have raced a few races in Grid and Multiplayer on Gameranger.

I have been on there most of today it is fun but would be more fun in TS with other people.

Scott..... THIS IS SICK!!!! OK, yeah, I assumed it was like Hamachi's version but THIS!! Is FANTASTIC!!! There's games in there that I only DREAMED I could play online at any given time... This is definitely a 3rd party server browser in all it's glory... There are people still playing FIFA online, Command & Conquer Zero Hour!!!!

Hello fellas...Tried playing Grid with some of you last night......couldn't get it up and running due to firewall issues.....but I have reinstalled 'Tunngle'...which may help me to connect to your games..I sincerely appreciate the patience you conveyed last night, while waiting for me to 'green up'...Hopefully, this issue is now rectified, through another game server...I'd like to try again racing with you fellas...as I truly love this game...and cannot wait for the arrival of Grid 2. See you on the blacktop.

Game rangers port is 16000 I think... Set it up as UDP in your router and see what happens.. I like Tunggle way better these days but most of us use Gameranger to play Grid... Tunngle has gotten WAY more stable nowadays, and they have a ton more games supported... I would recommend having both..

Hey Steelhed....I did just that....opened port 16000 udp on my router....hopefully. I can connect with you guys the next time you play...cant wait to race with you all. And yes...I happen to find more people racing through Tunngle...I would recommend having both also.
