This is not what you would normally think about when Caterpillar Equipment comes to mind. The River Gorge Explorer is able to go from cruising speed (50 mph) to a dead stop with zero wake in less than 150 feet. This sleek, 65 foot hydrofoil assisted aluminum catamaran, is powered by 4 Cat C18 diesel engines. Enjoy the scenery at first, then after a bit you'll see the boat up close. It is the only boat of it's kind to operate in inland water anywhere in the U.S. and Europe. What a beauty!

It would be called a Caterpillar Marine Pleasure Craft, but they are using it for revenue purposes. The marine engine Service Technicians are usually dressed all in white (same color as the Cat marine engines) and the engine bays are cleaner than your kitchen counter tops! Can you imagine an engine and engine bay all in white? They are thoroughly cleaned before AND after each repair is made.
