PostSubject: How will my pc run BF3   Mon Mar 07, 2011 9:57 am

http://unigine.com/download/#heaven

download the heaven benchmark for windows

set tessellation to normal and my recommendation is set settings to 4xaa and 16xAF

Frostbite is rumored to run Full DX11 tessellation. So this benchmark, is a good indication of the stress your system will undergo to get a GENRERAL idea.

Complex algorithms and explosions will slow you down even more, but this bench mark will get you ready and show you what you will be in store for.

The only thing this doesn't take into account is DX11 multi cpu threading unloading ability from the GPU, which on one interview Dice had "14 out of 16 threads at 80% running BF3"

I ran this test also after removing the GTX260 (for physx) from my pc.
The first test above I forgot to set it to 16xAF & I forgot again on the first test below Embarassed . The second test below is with the 16xAF & really has little impact on the results. Also it shows the correct GPU model now that the GTX260 has been removed.

Just upgraded to 8 GB RAM, and will be upgrading to the OClocked 6950 sometime before BF3 release......that with my Quad-Core should hopefully allow to max my settings on 24" monitor.

Anyone disagree or have a better idea?

We are not really going to know for sure until at least the beta comes out.... I would guess though, at the very least, you're probably gonna wind up replacing that video card... But it's all speculation right now.. The alpha test was not a good test, as most of the graphical draw was left out of it.... Nice to meet you BTW...
