| Came across a problem, the Motherboard and CPU are not compatible, The MB only supports up to 95Watt, and the CPU is 125Watt
*Found a Solution*
My buddy Knightwolf who I live rather close by {other side of town} and I have lived with and know very well is going to trade CPU's. He has an AMD FX-4100 Zambezi 3.6GHz Quad Core he will trade me that is rated at 95Watts and his MB supports the 125Watt CPU

| The board should be fine with the cpu it never gets to 125w anyhow my 955x4 be never ran more than 88-90w at4.0ghz and at factory clocks runs about 75 w not even sure why they rate them so high max wattage maybe? Anyways if your friend wants to swap you chips that would be ok too the fx is a little better than then phenom x4 for multithreaded apps but struggles with single threaded processes so its your call. Also to cowboy, and nimmer thanks so much for helping us out with the build! Glad we got the ball rolling on this to help out a fellow member. Nimmer can you update the spreadsheet to make sure we are not missing something? I think we have everything we need. | |

Yeah everything is good to go. Ill be getting the GPU and Case in a couple day's. And Night Walkr is going to hook up the cpu/mb/ram/powersupply and a spare HDD to make sure it boots and everything works before sending it over. After I get everything ill be back in buisness

| I shipped out the cpu, board ram,and psu on wendsday hopefully you get it friday so you can snap that pig together and fire it up! I left the cpu cooler on it since i already applied artic silver 5 i just removed the fan so it would fit in the mobo box for shipping i also left the ram in it is packaged in foam so should be no issues and for whatever reason they sent the power supply in bubble wrap, no box its brand new but not sure why they shipped it that way it works good though i also wrapped the cpu power connector with a white tie because it can be mistaken for a pcie connector cuz they are not labeled. I just rewrapped the psu in the bubble wrap like they had it and taped it up better than what they had it, again the box is paded so no damge should occur.

| Personally i have never had much luck with modular power supplies. I've noticed voltage drop issues with them. Example: on a thermaltake 680wattpsu modular, i tested the pcie voltage on directly at the power supply the voltage was between 12-12.2vdc, with the cable plugged in the voltage was 11.5-11.9 and it fluctuated heavily in that range my current power supply Corsair 850tx is not modular and gets consistant 12vdc all the time to all plugs. I do like to be able to unplug stuff i am not using but the issue i have found is every time you have a splice or connection no matter how solid it builds resistance in the line and with resistance voltage decreases. Voltage can also decrease due to cable length and wire size. It may not be an immediate issue just depends solely on the components being powered. Just some food for thought.

| Hey I just saw this thread, I've been MIA for a while now, it looks like you got everything you need, is that right? If you're still in need send me a PM as I have lots of excess hardware.
