A couple of pics of my shooting hobby

I mentioned in my other post that I take a lot of combatives classes and also do 3 gun shoots on occasion, so I figured I'd show you guys a few pics of some of the things we do in them. Shotgun stage in a 3 gun zombie shoot





Shotgun combatives class (ton of fun, if you haven't done a shotgun class, definitely do it!)



Transitioning to handgun



Carbine Vertical displacement drills (half squat position)



Cover and concealment section during the carbine class (My F2000 I use in game is configured identical to this FS2000 with the exception of the suppressor and select fire option lol)



3 and 400 yard steel shooting at the 3 gun



This was the range, the targets were on the left in white (to the right of the yellow sign there were 2 at 300 yards, to the right of the white sign there were 4 at 400 yards)



BOOM HEADSHOT lol (100 yards with my AR15 seated using the mag as a monopod, red dot with 5x magnifier)

That looks like fun. I was looking at buying a ruger single 6, Or a ruger bearcat.

Its a ton of fun, I would recommend anyone who is a shooting enthusiast to go out and do it. Its a lot better than plinking and is useful information God forbid you would ever need it. The 3 gun competitions are just fun period but they are only a game in the end whereas the classes actually teach you skills.

The ruger Single six is the .22 right? i'm not familiar with revolvers much, however my fiancees dad just bought a S&W 686-6 .357. It looks and feels sweet. Revolvers are excellent since they are very easy to operate

They are both .22's. I have wanted one for years. I just revived a large pay check so I might buy one soon.

nice .22's are excellent for their inexpensive cost to shoot and valuable fundamental training especially when it comes to trigger management. I have a GSG-522SD carbine and bring it out with me to make sure I'm not developing any bad habits (anticipating recoil etc.)

I just picked up a shot timer also so that I can train myself for time in the drills, excellent way to measure improvement

I'm hoping i get to go to demo day again at the range here just outside town... fire all the guns you want to for free, don't need a license which is great!

Sounds like a good time. Be sure to get us some pictures when you do that Butterfly.

+1 to what he said, a range day with free stuff to shoot is something to not be missed

Figured you guys would like this pic, I'm shooting the MSAR XM17-E4 in the carbine class I took in June. I was rolling around in some toxic waste of burnt tires and God knows what earlier in the class, hence why my arms are black lol. I thought it was cool that the pic caught the gun in mid cycle as you can see the ejected brass in the upper left portion of the shot

The training classes really are a blast, as well as very educational. If you guys haven't attended one you definitely should look into it. For those of you in the NY area, here is the link to the company I train with: MDTS

The classes are excellent and the cost is not that much for what you get for it . Not to mention, there are a few places that allow you to find out just how fast you can go and still be accurate and under control

That MSAR XM17-E4 looks alot like the Steyr AUG with picatinny rails. 6 years in the Australian Air Force so it brings back some fond memories. Love the bullpup!

With the changeable ejection slots there was nothing worse than being on the range and being sandwiched between a lefty and a righty and getting hot casings from both sides land on your neck and back while trying to take your shot.

You are correct, the MSAR is a Steyr AUG copy made by Microtech Small Arms Research. It is a great shooter, and very maneuverable. That is a funny story though, I'm sure it could not have been fun at the time though haha.
