| Are you only looking to buy, or is building an option?
You could build a smoking fast PC for 1k, even if 200 of it has to go to LCD/Keyboard/Mouse.

| Here is a video of a PC I just built a customer. The total cost was about $1200, but that was higher than it needs to be because
1) Had to go with MicroATX for smaller cases size, which limits the cases and motherboard selection, and often the decent ones cost more than the standard ATX counterparts.
2) Went with a high end large capacity SSD (240GB). Going with a slightly smaller size like 120 or 160 will reduce the cost a bit.
The thing is a business PC, so no video card is installed. It is using the built in video of the i7 sandybridge CPU (not integrated mobo graphics).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PZaO7C_IB8&feature=channel&list=UL Still need a large radiator and liquid pumps to keep the fluid cool. And leaks can be an issue. There a nice idea but considering the cost, impractical. | |

There a nice idea but considering the cost, impractical. Also if you ever want to upgrade it or need to replace a bad component, it's a HUGE mess. I agree with the all in one computer idea, no need to spend 1k on something that isn't going to be used on anything really straining. It doesn't take much to make a computer that's capable of browsing the internet/fast. |
