Another little item you may be interested in Nimmer is Kepler. Its the next Nvidia GPU due to blow Fermi away x4 and if that's not enough look out for Maxwell. Rumor is it comes after Kepler and in theory blows its doors off by x16 faster.
Fun fun fun for us PC guys...
Yes that is what the experts think as well. I am skipping sandy bridge and waiting for the new 2011 pin extreme i7 3960

Drivers - Advantage Nvidia
Hardware quality - TIE
Longevity - Advantage AMD
Value - Advantage AMD
I have built 12 Nvidia systems and 8 AMD systems and Nvidia always seem to run hotter. I turn the fans up to 90% and live with it with no problems. Nvidia: New game comes out and the driver is ready same day BAM! AMD once a month for a WHQL release= LAME. Crossfire drivers always have problems, not major but many small quirks. AMD hardware always runs cooler and is slightly more reliable. BUT even with Nvidia's SO HOT BURNS THE HAIR OFF MY RIGHT LEG hardware it outlast the next generation so is really is not a problem for me or my customers.
I will buy (2) hd7000 series (probably HD7870) the hour they are released on NEW EGG. The samples are in testers hands now so benchmarks should be leaking any day now. If one 7870 pumps out the same bandwidth that (2) 5870's did (which is 314g/s) I think they will have a sucessful product.
Keplar; there is little to NOTHING backing any specs or data for this product. The only thing is Nvidia officially said 2012 so....Nvidia is again 6 months late to the market. I am sure it will be a monster but many tech people I know are shorting Nvidia stock right now.
One main reason I am very pumped for lots of GPU bandwidth is all the talk about the new "ULTRA" graphics setting on BF3. (THANKS FOR THE INFO STEEL) which is what the ultra high qulaity 1080p renders in the BF3 website images section. This was a setting that was never released in Frosbite 1.x (Bad Company 2) Dice did release the high quality screen shots before BC2 was released but the ultra textures settings never made it to our PC's
